Over 3,000 students from 120 countries begin the academic year at the Madrid and Barcelona Campuses of EAE Business School

23 November 2023 – More than 3,000 students from 120 countries have begun the new academic year at the Madrid and Barcelona Campuses of EAE Business School. This year, 31% of the students come from Europe, mainly from countries such as Italy, German, the Netherlands, France and Belgium; 56.4% from Latin America from countries including Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Chile and Argentina; and 10.5% from North America, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
To welcome the new students, EAE organized an event at the Barcelona Maritime Museum and at Florida Park in Madrid, attended by lecturers and members of the School’s staff. At the event in Barcelona, the Dean of EAE Business School Barcelona, Enric Ordeix, emphasized to the students the importance of starting this new stage of their lives: “You are not just going to gain a qualification, but rather a commitment to excellence, innovation and leadership. Over the course of the year ahead, you will be challenged to think critically, solve complex problems and lead teams in an increasingly globalized and dynamic world. On EAE’s programs, as well as acquiring theoretical knowledge, you also develop practical skills to tackle real-world challenges”.
Meanwhile, the Dean of EAE Business School Madrid, Antonio Rodríguez Ruibal, also shared a few words to welcome the new students at the Madrid Campus, in an event held at Florida Park: “You are embarking on one of the greatest stages of your lives, perhaps even the best. Education is the key to transforming the world. You are at exactly the right place and time to achieve a better future. Make the most of the classes, the assignments and the lecturers’ expertise to reach your full potential, as they are here to equip you with the tools for a brighter future”.
Among the biggest new developments this academic year, EAE Business School has launched a number of new Masters designed to adapt to the new needs and interests of the market and to the new profile required by companies, including: the Master in International Business & STEM, Master in UX & Customer Experience, Master in Fashion & Retail Management Barcelona-Rome and Global Master in Sustainability and CSR, at the Barcelona Campus; and the Master in Marketing Management in Fashion and Beauty, MBA in Healthcare Management, Master in Big Data & Business Analytics, Master in Marketing and Sales Management, MBA in English, Global MBA and Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management at the Madrid Campus.
EAE Barcelona’s Global Master in Sustainability and CSR focuses on the management of sustainable companies and Corporate Social Responsibility, including insight into sustainability and leadership skills. Students will be equipped to lead their companies’ CSR strategy, in alignment with the big international agreements (Global Compact, Green Deal, Paris Accords) to create business and reputational value. They also develop personal skills such as empathy, resilience, creativity and communication.
EAE Business School Barcelona gives students a 360º vision of the fashion and retail universe on its Master in Fashion & Retail Management, a program that focuses on fashion company management, the evolution of retail and creative entrepreneurship. The Master includes visits to different fashion capitals, such as Rome, and “Retail Safaris” to explore the latest trends, thereby ensuring a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Moreover, the Master in International Business & STEM has incorporated the STEM Track to give students an insight into a key figure in multinational and multicultural companies in a constant state of evolution within a globalized business world, in the same way as the Master in UX & Customer Experience.
Moving on to the EAE Business School Madrid Campus, the School is launching the Master in Artificial Intelligence for Business aimed at innovative professionals and equipping them with the knowledge required to evaluate business decisions related to AI, assess the degree of evolution that this generates and draw impactful conclusions for businesses. An outstanding feature of this program is the inclusion of several practical and technical real hands-on exercises of the application of AI in different areas of the company.
In the October intake, EAE Madrid is also starting the Master in Marketing Management in Fashion and Beauty, a program that gives students a strategic vision of the fashion and beauty industry and the dynamic opportunities it offers. Moreover, its practical, creative and innovative approach gives students an in-depth understanding of the main markets and players and the skills required to identify, prepare and implement marketing and digital communication plans.
The MBA in Healthcare Management is designed to respond to the trends que emerging in the health sector. The program is aimed at professionals in the sector and people with studies in the field of healthcare who want to take in positions of responsibility in the management of healthcare organizations or plan to launch an entrepreneurial venture in this field (opening a clinical or medical practice). To achieve this, they acquire a global overview of all the areas of management and enhance their capacity to lead innovation.
Last but not least, this year, EAE Madrid has launched the Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Management, 100% in English, in collaboration with UNIE-Universidad Internacional de la Empresa, EAE Madrid’s Academic Partner.
EAE Madrid is consolidating its position as a leader in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation with the creation of the Impact and Drive Innovation Hub, an open innovation platform connected to business and the market, bringing together talent, knowledge, investors and big organizations with the aim of generating solutions with a positive impact on society and companies.
The main mission of the Hub is to help large companies, startups, associations and investors foster growth and innovation by connecting talent and knowledge in order to generate solutions, business development and social impact.
The platform brings together different working areas, including Talent for Impact, which encompasses the Professional Careers and Entrepreneurship project, which aims to create and develop professional impact among the students. Moreover, it includes the Corporate Education department, whose main responsibility is to work with corporate partners to help them boost talent, promote the growth of professionals within the companies and generate opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship through in-company training program. The entrepreneurship part of the Hub includes the Opportunity Lab, which accelerates ideas and projects. Lastly, the Exponential Technology Hub, promotes and connects the initiatives developed within it through a Techsite focusing on technology and robotics.
At EAE Business School Barcelona, we empower every student to create the habits and connections needed to generate opportunities that will make an impact throughout their careers through the Professional Impact Unit, an expert team of 60 professionals specializing in different areas of professional development. This team of internal and external professionals at EAE Barcelona includes recruiters, career consultants, CV experts, coaches, headhunters, industry specialists, mentors, researchers and professors.
With respect to entrepreneurial profiles, 250 new students took part in an event to discover the latest developments that enable them to strengthen each phase of the entrepreneurial process. Moreover, the School presented the co-working space of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Hub, a platform that enables entrepreneurs to build valuable connections with startups based in Barcelona, the third most popular city in Europe for developing new entrepreneurial ventures. The Hub enables students to experience first-hand full immersion in the development of their projects.
Meanwhile, within the framework of the campus’s Sustainability Plan, key sustainability (SDG) and innovation matters have been integrated throughout the School’s academic programs and student experience, with practical analytical cases of real companies and a large emphasis on hands-on content on the programs. Moreover, the School’s innovative methodological approach includes activities such as Innovation Meetings, in which leaders from different sectors share their knowledge and insights with the students. This event was the starting point for students to innovate and start their own business.
